You never cut the pipe and loose the roundness. Always tack weld ends on pipe before ever cutting the doors out.

Great job on the build! I’d recommend taking your baffle back out and putting one in that faces UP instead of down. My Old Country Brazos had the same down facing baffle - cut it out and cooked like that for a while but recently I put in a “scoop” baffle that faces up - sits/slides in between the grate rail and the bottom of the pit. Let’s me use the whole grate without any hot spot and still cooks great. Just a suggestion:) great work!!
